Meet your instructor:
Hello! My name is Sarah Marsh and I graduated from Madonna University in 2011 with my Bachelor’s in Nursing. I started my career at Beaumont (previously Oakwood) Dearborn that same year in the ICU and continued there until 2017. So much of what I learned in those first few years was from the nursing assistants that I worked alongside of. They were always willing to teach me and give me suggestions; which I will be forever grateful for. I then worked at Saint Mary Mercy Hospital ICU in Livonia for almost two years following that. We moved to Massachusetts and I spent 3 years working in an ICU outside of Boston, Massachusetts, the last year as the nursing manager, during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. When my family and I moved back to the Great Lake State in October 2020 (due to a job change for my fiancé), I started at University of Michigan as an ICU float nurse and I currently work in eight specialized ICU units.
I have also had the privilege of teaching both senior nursing practicum and medical-surgical nursing clinicals for Eastern Michigan University and Madonna University for 8 semesters. I spent 12 years in the Michigan State National Guard as a Nurse and Platoon Leader for Combat Medics. During that time, I was an instructor for the Combat Medic recertification program. I’m currently residing in South Lyon, Michigan with my 12-year-old son, Charlie, fiancé Brandon and chocolate lab Arlo. I am incredibly passionate about teaching, respectful teamwork and absolutely love what I do! I look forward to meeting all of you!
